Tempranillo

A black grape grown primarily in the Rioja region of Spain, Tempranillo
grapes produce full-bodied red wines of the same name.  Tempranillo means
"little early".

A very popular wine in Spain, Tempranillo is also widely grown and produced
in Argentina, Australia, Chile and Mexico.  In North America, Tempranillos
are moderately produced in California and Oregon.

Tempranillo is used as a varietal, but it’s more commonly part of a blend,
principally with Grenache, Carignan or
Cabernet Sauvignon.  Tempranillos
have flavors and aromas of fruit—primarily cherry, strawberry and plum, and
they go down smoothly with many different foods.

Suggested Food Pairings:
Tapas
Spicy Mexican and Indian dishes
Roast Lamb
Pork (pancetta, chorizo, cured ham, and more)
Stuffed peppers
