Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc is a green grape grown throughout the world; it is bottled as a
varietal but is also often used as a blending grape in white Bordeaux and with
Semillon.  This wine’s versatility allows it to be paired with a variety of foods.

This fresh, crisp wine is distinctive and one of the easier wines to recognize by
its sharp smell and tart flavors.  Like many white wines, Sauvignon Blanc is
meant to be consumed while it’s very young. Over time, the acidity will
decrease and flavors will decay, so drink this wine as shortly after buying.

Though grown widely throughout the world and originating in the Loire Valley
of France, New Zealand’s Marlborough region is widely hailed as the greatest
producer of Sauvignon Blanc.

Suggested food pairings:
Poultry
Sushi
Cheese
