Riesling

Known primarily for its delicious beers, Germany is also home to several great
wines.  Riesling wines originated in Germany’s Rhein and Mosel river valleys
and are a tasty addition to any wine collection.

Outside of Germany, Riesling grapes are grown in Australia, New Zealand,
Austria, South Africa and the United States, among others.  Riesling tends to
grow most productively in cooler regions.

These wines frequently taste of fruits like pear or apple and have a relatively
high level of acidity. As the wine ages, the fruit flavors diminish slightly as
does the sweetness, which leaves a more bitter or tart wine.  Generally
speaking, Rieseling wines are a crisp and refreshing wine that can be enjoyed
on warm days and taste great on their own or as a compliment to a meal.
